How to stop procrastinating?

You feel that time is running  through your fingers and you do not do much? You often catch yourself fix the window while playing with your pen? So you are definitely follower of procrastination.Here are some tips to fix it.

 

What is this strange disease with an unpronounceable name and that seems to affect everyone these days? Want to know if you have it?  
We give you our tips to better understand this phenomenon and fight it.
When the situation becomes critical, the files accumulate and the delay is approaching : 

- I turn into obsessive tidying

   Anything goes, workbooks align alphabetically, by color pens, emails to categorize, sub-categories and sub-sub-categories, sort contacts. It is very important that, imagine that we should call someone in an emergency, but the name is poorly referenced, seriously, it would panic. 

- I am convinced that the solution is to plan everything

Given the mountain of things to do, a solution: the list! There is the "TO DO LIST", written in big and red, for the important things. Then "To buy lists" (for that matter) that come in lists for shopping / children / house / dog ... derived themselves in "Wish lists". It is at this point that is lost in the vicious circle of the list. 

- My mind is my worst enemy

The imagination, what a great quality ... we lost a lot of time! At work, while traveling, when suddenly BIM! The machine starts. It starts with an innocuous thought "I should rather do it like this" and it ends with a brutal return to reality after 15 minutes of stillness and misty eyes. In general we had the time to plan what to do in case of fire / terrorist attack / invasion of zombies / ticket winning the lottery. 

- I suffer from the syndrome "Oh a label !"

 It takes the same starting position, back straight, shoulders relaxed, hands above the keyboard, and then ... reflex of the morning cereal box reappears. "Oh, a bottle of water, 
and if I looked at the composition?".  
Of course it also works with the bag of cookies, the cigarettes, the box of tea or lip balm.

- I'm addicted to my smart phone

 This is the classic series, but also the greatest temptations. The worst is that it has become a reflex.  
It looks mechanically the time, messages, facebook page, and all 3min20. 

Solutions to stop procrastinating


Do violence is perhaps not the best solution. It is very difficult to fight against the habit of body and mind. We must therefore try to develop strategies to circumvent.
 
Take real breaks. This allows you to be more effective the rest of the time, provided of course really blowing and changing ideas.

Agree rewards. If I can finish this, I take: a coffee, a cigarette, a cake, a weekend in Las Vegas ... Try to find all the same rewards to the extent of the effort.

Learning to work in teams. To stop procrastinating the best is yet to come out of loneliness and reach out to others in a team that always works best, we pull each other up.
